Look, i’m all for evolving the rules of the game, and by all accounts this new kickoff seems like it will give returners more of a chance to actually return some kicks. But, it’s weird. Seeing nobody get running starts, just a herd of players flocking towards the ball is going to take some getting used to.
It just seems so, XFL-esque. But, i’m sure that’ll pass with time.
It definitely feels good to have NFL football back on the TV though, albeit a meaningless pre-season game that got cancelled early due to inclement weather. Congrats on your win Bears (I guess?)
The real fun beings September 9th at 8:20pm. Let the games begin.
